stamp collecting: Netherlands Indies

Me next to a Dutch mailbox outside a Dutch colonial postoffice in Jakarta 2012. This is a beautiful pillar box used for display only with elaborate ornamentation and in the characteristic Dutch orange. The plate announcing the times of collection ('buslichting') is left empty.

I have been collecting the classic stamps and postal history of the Netherlands East Indies for almost ten years now. I use this site to share some of my areas of interests and display parts of my collection from this exotic, interesting and very complex collecting area.
